Wayne's frustrating season in 2008 continued this week at the Canon Open when he missed the cut by a narrow one shot at the event in Yokohama. His rounds of 72 and 74 left him short of the required mark.
"I'm very disappointed again," said Wayne as he packed up preparing to head back to Brisbane. "It's the worst year I've had and I'll go home and try to regroup with some fitness training and boxing to get my head right.
"I'll be back for a 6 week stretch so I still have a chance to salvage something out of this year."
Wayne does not have a start at next week's Japan Open Championship so he will return home then play next at the Bridgestone Open in Chiba starting on October 23rd.
That is followed by several big money events including th ABC Championship, the Championship by Lexus, the Visa Taiheyo Masters, The Dunlop Phoenix and the Casio World Open .

Wayne is in Yokohama to the south of Tokyo for this week's Canon Open, a new event on the Japan Golf Tour.
"The course is good, said Wayne on the eve of the event. "It should be pretty tough with sloping greens but I like it."
"I need to get a good start but I have practiced well this week and am getting more confident."
Wayne has an 9.10 am tee time to get things underway in the ¥200 million ($A2.9 million) event
